School is only days away and I am so stressed that I now have a medical case of insomnia. I called residence life to inquire about my roommate since I hadn’t heard anything. The original roommate was a complete nightmare that I don’t wish to relive. With the one phone call that I made to her I knew that it wasn’t going to work out. When I called they told me that she wasn’t even staying in the dorms anymore so there was no worries, but since she was moved I got the room as a single by default. This was exciting news and something told me that this was being thrown in my lap for a reason, so I should jump on it. They said that since the room wasn’t assigned to anyone that if I wanted it as a single it was mine. What an early birthday present, but I needed an additional $2,000 in order to claim victory. On the phone I am to the business office and financial aid trying everything that I can to gather funds to pay for this room and hopefully have the additional $400 that I need to finish out my textbooks. So after dropping my meal plan, taking out an unsubsidized loan (maximum of course), and using the credit that I already had I gathered enough money to pay for the room. I think that having a single will give me the peace of mind that I so need on my first year back. I get along with the other housemate that will be staying there, so overall I am very happy. I leave in two days to move in and I can actually say that I am excited. My first class is French and that excites me even more.
Stay tuned to see what my move in day is like….
